Next few radio appearances

Monday 6/12/23

Itemization of what I'll be discussing the next few times on Downtown.

Tuesday 6/13

Gene Vincent. His 1956 debut album with the Blue Caps, Bluejean Bop! All things Cliff Gallup, and the nine sessions--which were part of three series of sessions--he recorded with Vincent in that same year. The two performances Vincent and the Blue Caps gave on Alan Freed's Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party on August 7, 1956. The material Vincent cut for the BBC's Saturday Club in March 1960. Some fascinating footage of Vincent performing in Italy in 1960. And Gene Vincent covers of "Over the Rainbow" and "Where Have You Been (All My Life)."

Tuesday 6/20

The 1947 film, Out of the Past, directed by Jacques Tourneur and starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas, and shot by Nicholas Musuraca, as the ultimate noir and one of the finest pictures regardless of genre.

Tuesday 6/27

The Anton Chekhov stories "Gooseberries," "Misery," "Children, "Boys."
