Ninety-five-year-old Bob Cousy had some excellent, penetrating comments about Kyrie Irving. Said he's not a superstar anymore and the Celtics are handling him one-on-one. I think he's dead accurate. I never understood the glorification of Kyrie Irving as an offensive player, which is all he ever was. He got so much mileage and hype out of one shot.

It's Tom Brady Night tonight at Gillette, with him going into the Patriots Hall of Fame. You need to fucking move on. You can't keep living in the past. You're now the New England Panthers. What I do I mean by that? You are as relevant a football team and franchise as the Carolina Panthers. You're a nothing team and a nothing organization now. You can't just ball-lick this guy all the time. Robert Kraft is always lapping at this guy's balls. Focus on now, chief.

I get it: He has to go into your ridiculous Hall of Fame and it's not like it can take four years. But the overkill with all things Brady.

These team Hall of Fames have no value to me. Does anyone really care?

You know who does care? Meatheads. People who say "we" when they talk about the team.

"Yeah, Brady is one of us forever."

Brady is not one of you. And you're not on the fucking team. You can't even touch your toes with your knees bent.

I guess, if you wanted to stretch it, that a team Hall of Fame is nice for, like, Trot Nixon. But it's the JV Hall of Fame, Hall of Fame-wise, right? I can't see anyone in their right mind caring about a team Hall of Fame.

The Patriots are going to suck for so long. And Patriots talk in June--especially now that you're a moribund franchise--is wearying. This guy was just roasted, he just had his day at the stadium where he ran around on the field, and now this, when the Celtics are playing in the Finals. Move the fuck on. It's embarrassing. Robert Kraft is always embarrassing to me now. He's always doing something gross and needy and sad.

Jerry West died. Never won an MVP. Probably surprising to some. Finished second, though, often. These guys who won when he was the runner-up--damn. Big years. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, for instance, maybe at his best, but he was so good for so long. He was always good and almost always great.
