Letter to friend's daughter who is home again

Dear (),

It is your friend Colin again in Boston where he is proud of you.

Well, you did it. What you needed to do. And not everyone does that. Actually, many don’t.

I hope you are giving yourself credit.

One last little bit of advice from me. Or a thought.

As you may perhaps know, I run many stairs. Let’s just say it—I am a mighty Zulu warrior when it comes to stairs (and a few other things). And yes, that is the official term.

But even though I am a Zulu warrior on the stair front, if I don’t run stairs for a bit—like even only a week—it can take a bit of time to get back to where I was. I have to remind myself to pace myself. Not to do too much at once or expect my desired results immediately.

What I do know, though, is that if I put the time and effort in, that good old regular commitment, I’ll return to where I was and go beyond it.

What I’m suggesting is that life is like this. In this case, your life.

Don’t worry about getting it all back at once. Do the daily workout. So to speak. It’ll all come before you know it. Trust me. Zulu warriors know of what they speak.

I will get out of your hair, letter-wise, now that you are restored to home and hearth (which is simply a way of saying you’re back; yea!), but I wouldn’t have felt right not reaching out one last time (for now—I’m sure we’ll speak again).

Now get out there and do your stuff!

Your friend,

Colin
