Friday 10/31/25
As I mentioned earlier, my niece Lilah has a journal for school in which the kids write a letter to someone each Friday and then that person writes them back. This time she wrote to me and I had to respond by yesterday. I was so glad to get a letter from Lilah even if she doesn't know how to spell my name because I admire her very much. This is what she said:

And this was my letter back to her:
Dear best pal/niece Lilah,
Thank you for your letter—it is so nice to hear from you. But what if you didn’t get your frogs and instead the frogs got you? They might be even more excited than you are because they’ve been waiting for so many frog days—like, say, six—and I bet frog days and human days don’t feel like they last the same amount of time.
What do you think? And if there was a frog-to-human translating device so that they were able to talk to you and you with them, then Strawberry could say, “What’s with this Strawberry thing? I’m Clovis. Don’t be silly, Amelia.”
And you’d be like, “Why are you calling me by the name of my sister who also goes by Little Tyrant?” and Clovis would say, “I didn’t know you had a sister. But I have eighty-three of them myself.” Well. Then you’d really have to wonder, right? Is that just coincidence, or are frogs tapped into something that we’re not?
I like learning about what you’re learning. The best way to learn isn’t to think you know. It’s to think that there’s a lot more to know. Next time you’re hanging with Clovis…um…Strawberry…take a look into those big frog eyes. She could be thinking, “I’m so glad we finally got to meet you!” You might be surprised how much frog eyes can say when no hopping is happening and you’re face to face.
Please feel free to write me again whenever you like and go ace that test!
Love,
Colin
