Stayed up late watching basketball. Bad C-Dawg. What does that really mean? The games were on, I was monitoring them, sometimes watching a sequence, while making notes for about fifty things--stories, books, ideas I've come up with, things I have to write, people to reach out to, entries for people going up in the pages of this blog, films, records.
Twenty-five degrees this morning. Not very vernal.
Lots of celery.
Bruins lost to the Rangers. As I said before, I think the Rangers could be a tough out in the playoffs. Jeremy Swayman wasn't good again.
Oakland beat Kentucky, fourteen seed over the three, which was pretty cool. It seems like everyone can shoot the three-ball now and any team can have a great shooting night. If that happens, you can beat anyone. These lower seeds don't have the size the elite programs do, but if you can find a way around the size issue (limit points in the paint, for instance), the shots are falling, and you play your guts out, you have a chance.
Watched the Christmas episode from the first season of The Andy Griffith Show. I'll watch anything Christmas-themed at any time of the year, but around Easter is a nice time to start getting back into Christmas. Is that weird? Probably to most. But I love Christmas. It's more than a seasonal thing for me. Much more, actually.
Downloaded Charlie Parker's recordings from the Hi-Hat here in Boston from 1953-54. Listened to Paul Lewis's LP of Schubert piano sonatas (D. 537, 568, 664).
