Reasons, crimes, concerti grossi, sneaky mailman

I need reasons to be interested in someone. Those are not reasons of what I don't have, but because of who that person is. This is not how it works for most. They don't want to be alone, so they find someone. The former is their motivation. That does not get it done for me. There are these people with whom I could make do, or make do for a bit, but it's like, "Why would I be interested in you?" There's not enough there. I require someone with lots of there there.
Stay clear of anyone who describes themselves as a "content creator." They are almost always massive narcissists.
All of these lonely people saying they are a "mom" to animals. "I'm a mom to six bearded dragons." Sounds like that whole stability thing is well in hand.
My mailman doesn't come for days. I saw him furtively--or he looked furtive to me--delivering the mail on Sunday recently. What is going on here?
Started a new story.
Also looked at some attempts by people to write a story in just a handful of words. Predictably, they all sucked at it and used the same approach. You get like no variation. Nothing these people write has a fierce individuality that is entirely its own. Read back the 150 six-word, single-sentence stories again--there was an extra word that needed to go--and did that thing where I laugh because it's just so good. You have to laugh when something is at that level.
I watched James Gray's The Yards (2000). Films like this never do anything for me, but I find it amusing that they always seem to have a guy who orders a hit, then sits in his wood-paneled den late at night with a look of conflict on his face drinking a Scotch while the hit is going down.
It was remarked to me yesterday that I would not excel as a criminal. "You're too much of a good person." I would crack straight away. Raskolnikov has a good ride, right? For a much lesser crime, I'd be chasing down Porfiry Petrovich pretty much instantly. I don't have it in me. I would also be bad at cheating. So, if I was with one nubile just-out-of-college woman, I'd have to pass up another nubile just-out-of-college woman with a "I fear I must not stray," line, though it would be much better to simply care much about the first person and have no secondary interest or need for any in someone else.
As a word, "nubile" is also amusing.
Listened to Corelli's Twelve concerti grossi (Trevor Pinnock; The English Concert) this AM.
Downloaded Joe Henderson's The Complete Blue Note Sessions on Mosaic. Also, the Standells' The Hot Ones, which is a hard-to-find covers album--yes, the Standells did a cover LP!--and Live on Tour - 1966, one of the very best live garage rock albums from the vintage garage rock era. You wouldn't think such things existed, right? But we do have some excellent ones, this being near the top.
Shooting from a sharp angle is very in right now in hockey. It's working a bunch, too.
