Serial chapters

Saturday 3/9/24

Started thinking about a horror novel last night. It would perhaps have a certain dual functionality. We'll see. Long way to go. Long way to go doesn't mean not a fast way to go, though. This would be about a town that doesn't die. Not people in a town that don't die, but a town that doesn't die. A town with lots of hills, rocks, and ridges. I will make some notes and think some more.

"I Big Girl" needs to be finished for The Ghost Grew Legs.

"Birthdays Gone Awry" is now done. That last line.

Ran 3000 stairs yesterday and did 100 push-ups.

I think on average that someone who doesn't drink is likelier to be nicer than someone who does. What do I mean? That if you had one person who drank and one who didn't, chances are greater the latter person would be the nicer person. It wouldn't have to work out that way. I'm just talking about percentages. "Chances are." Why is this? I think they're likelier to be more at peace with themselves. I'm not saying 200% more. I'm just saying if I had to pick, playing the percentages, that's what I'd go with.

Took the train yesterday to West Medford to the dentist and had the mold made.

May go to a free origami flower-making class today at the Harvard Art Museums.

Read something this morning saying that Mookie Betts was now going to be the Dodgers' shortstop and then read it again to make sure I read it correctly. I wonder if the Dodgers will fall victim to a kind of institutional arrogance.

Listened to Coltrane's Live at the Village Vanguard this AM.

I'll be making a survey of serials from the 1930s and 1940s.
