Street scene microcosm of the end of humanness

Walking down the street to the cafe late this afternoon. Two girls are in front of me with their dad. One girl describes her homework. She actually sounds kind of into it. She wants to talk about it, anyway. Dad says, “Can’t you just use AI?”

There it is. That's how this goes. He had no idea why she'd want to do the work if she didn't have to. Why she'd want to think. Or why she should.

You can't overstate either the problem of parenting in this world right now.
