That's what it is

Monday 4/29/24

I have given up pizza, but I find that Pizza Shark commercial catchy, and it's on Cape Cod, which I love, of course, so I like when it comes on.

Ran 3000 stairs, did 100 push-ups.

Spoke to a buddy of mine on FaceTime while running said stairs today. When we get on the phone she says, "Hi buddy," and then "Bye buddy," when it's time to go.

Manichean. That's what it is. Good v. evil. The publishing system thing, that is. Manichean.

The Oilers had like all of 13 shots on goal last night and won 1-0. That surprised me.

A lot of book titles have been figured out over the past four, five days.

There's a resignation now in society, this automatic acceptance that things have to be stupid in order to be successful, to attract audiences, to make money. I encounter it all the time. "I know you have to say stupid things on your show to have a big audience and get people like me to tune in." Etc.

But what if things don't have to be stupid? What if people are just stupid, and that's all anyone can do on their show or whatever? And then everyone else just says, well, that's how it has to be, because people are so dumb, no one can be smart and attract people. But what if that's not really how it has to be?

Here is a photo of my nieces at Lilah's birthday party and another of the card I sent her as well. She had a really fun time it sounds like. I don't know if she liked the ballet book I got her, but I hope she did.
