The Boston Fleet is coming to Agganis and the buffoonery of Enes Kanter Freedom

The Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League will be playing their home games at BU's Agganis Arena this upcoming season instead of in Lowell. Many of their fans don't like this because now it means getting in and out of Boston with all of the inconvenience that entails, but it works out well for me and now I can go to some games. Could even walk there. That's a wonderful old arena. Saw the Hockey East women's championship there a few years ago.

I saw that former Celtic Enes Kanter Freedom and some other ex-NBA player are now saying they identify as female and will be joining the WNBA in an attempt to prove some point. If this is what you're doing, you've lost your way in life, if you ever really had it. It's not the way to be. Kanter was essentially a bust. The third overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, he became a journeyman after just a few years in the league.

Obviously there's something wrong with you and you are desperate for that attention when you change your surname to "Freedom." People who call themselves activists in today's world are almost always empty-headed charlatans and attention whores. This man should be embarrassed. He should also have better things to do in his life. And if he actually wanted to help people, he could do that. That's not what this is.

The number of people who were "prominent" to whatever degree at an earlier point in their lives who need to try and get their name in the limelight again no matter how or for what, is a considerable number. It's the void within and the attempted filling thereof. Kanter thinks he's making a stand against the indulgence of mental illness, but he's really just indulging his own.

He ought to be ashamed and embarrassed. I can't imagine being like this and talking to friends--pretending I had friends for a moment--about what I was doing. I'd feel like they were recoiling with disgusting as I said things like, "So, I'm going to tell everyone I'm a woman now and join the WNBA, I'll show those bad people and the transes."

There's so much behavior that people regularly do that cries out for an intervention. They come home, and there are people there waiting for them, who say, "Take a seat," and they all say their bit and their peace about where this other person has gone wrong, who it hurts. But these types of behavior I'm talking about are the normal forms in this absolute disaster of a world now.

He's only thirty-four-years-old now and has been out of the NBA since 2022. His buffoonery didn't help his career, and no, he wasn't some magnanimous fellow devoted to the betterment of the world and willing to pay a price for doing so. If you're the number three pick, you're supposed to be better than he ended up being. This is someone who gets into online spats with WWE wrestlers and cops gross awards with names like the Warrior for Truth Award.

You've failed at life if you end up being like this. Shameless. We're meant to have shame and a conscience.
