Sunday 4/7/24
Ran 5000 stairs, did 100 push-ups, walked nine miles yesterday. Today I ran another 5000 stairs, did 500 push-ups, walked eight miles, and did three circuits in the 294-stair Bunker Hill Monument.
Today marks 2828 days, or 404 weeks, without a drink.
Went to Haymarket on Saturday and acquired blackberries, lots of peppers, and bananas. Did get to Trader Joe's today. Purchased arugula, yogurt, chicken.
I have not deviated from this new dietary approach. Not a single slice of pizza, and not even a non-whip skim hot chocolate from the Starbucks.
Got some straight-from-the-bog cranberry juice. You want to wake yourself up, take a big drink of said cranberry juice after it's been in the refrigerator with multiple swallows in a single go, then sit back and give it half a second to hit you. A bog-based, electrical shock to the system.
I've been eating celery with salsa. Read up on salsa, and it's very good for you--the homemade sort, not so much the kind you get at the CVS or 7-Eleven.
I have some animal crackers and some graham crackers.
I eat next to no red meat, but that was the same before. I stay away from red meat.
All of this is for my heart, which must be strong so I can endure that which I must endure right now. And when this has passed, I will keep on in tending to my heart so I can enjoy the life I deserve for a very long time. Everything I do in my life--every last thing--is for my grand quest. Every stair I run, word I write, day I don't drink, story I finish, entry on here. Every day I wake up at two in the morning and start work. Everything.
After a month or however long it's been of using it, I have to say I'm pleased with the investment in this night guard. I've had a lot fewer headaches in the morning to start my day. It's gone pretty well.
Twenty of three now. I haven't even eaten today. I am pure drive.
