I have this op-ed about MLB absorbing the stats--those that are available--of the Negro Leagues, which has overhauled the baseball record book. This has generated a lot of talk, all of it wrong, most of it stupid. It's amazing to me how difficult--really impossible--it is for people to process information and arrive at the thing that is correct.

To me it's very easy, but if you can do that, you look like this wizard, when all you're actually doing is seeing something as what it is. I looked at something from Ken Rosenthal. What a hack. He can't write nor think. And he also doesn't know baseball. Or baseball history. What I'll likely end up doing is just putting this piece up on here. All of these opinion pieces, printed and not, are going into a big book of them.

What's happening, too, with this new ruling is that the racists are coming out in droves. MLB, paradoxically, has armed them in a sense. The thing about a racist--or often the thing about a racist--is that the racist doesn't understand that he or she is a racist. It's so ingrained in them that they don't even think that what they think--or what they're saying--is wrong.

Look at this guy here with his crack about the Harlem Globetrotters. It's a typical comment. I'm seeing many just like this. Straight racism. This is what it looks like--it's woven all the way through a person.
